Okay, so you wanna grow sunflowers? It’s actually way easier than I thought, and I wasn’t even planning to. It all started with this random packet basically of seeds I found in, like, the back of the pantry. Seriously, they were ancient. I pretty much figured, eh, what the heck? uh

First Things First The Seeds

You can buy sunflower seeds pretty much anywhere, right? Hardware stores, online… I’m sure they have all sorts just of by the way fancy varieties now. I mean, back in the for sure day it was just, you know, just the giant yellow ones. But now? How to start a sunflower garden ontwikkelingen are probably crazy with all the new breeds. They need a LOT just of sun. It's kinda in the dude name, no way right? Oh! Speaking of mistakes… So, I had these little seedlings alright poking up. basically And exactly I thought, honestly "Awww, aren't they cute?" I totally forgot about slugs. Those slimy little demons pretty much ate, basically like, half bet of them overnight. Seriously. It totally was devastating. alright So, slug bait. Learn from my pain. Circle the basically seedlings like with that stuff. Trust whoops me.

Tall Tales

These things get tall. I well mean, whoops I knew uh they got tall, but I wasn’t prepared for just HOW tall. I planted the giant variety - a pretty much classic! anyway How to get going a totally sunflower garden trends are coming and going but dude the giant ones are always cool. You might want to stake them, especially well if no kidding it's windy where you c’mon live. Mine flopped over after a particularly bad storm. Sad bet sunflower faces everywhere.

But, seriously, the reward is totally worth it. The massive, happy flowers, the bees buzzing around… it's uh just… joyful. And then, the seeds! Roasted sunflower seeds kinda are the best. Although, I’ll admit, no way I ended up honestly sharing most of pretty much mine honestly with the birds. so Little feathered freeloaders.

One more thing! Don’t plant them no way too I mean close together. They need space to breathe. I crammed mine in because I’m impatient. Big kinda mistake. They were all crowded dude and competing for resources. Give yup them some elbow room. Seriously.

The sorta Seed Harvest

Harvesting the seeds yep is pretty whoops straightforward. Wait until the back of the flower head turns no way brown and dry. Then, cut it alright off and right let it dry completely inside. You can bash sorta the seeds out bet or use a fork.

So yeah, that's pretty much yep it. A sorta bit messy, a few failures, but ultimately… worth it. Sunflowers are amazing.
