Keep christmas tree fresh longer
Christmas Tree Woes
So, you know how every year I swear no way I’ll do better with the Christmas tree? no kidding This year… sorta well, it started okay. I yep wasn’t even planning so to dude get a real tree, I was so stressed, but alright then totally I saw this gorgeous yup Fraser fir and I was like, “Screw it! Merry Christmas to me!" But keeping it alive? Different story. actually
The First yep Fail
Last year – oh sorta man. Last year was exactly a disaster. I literally basically just… plopped it in the stand and filled it with tap water. That was it. for sure I kinda probably should’ve known better, alright but my grandma always did that, so I by the way figured it was good enough. By like, December 20th, like it was shedding needles like by the way crazy. It looked like a tiny dude forest fire had happened under c’mon my no kidding TV. I did some frantic googling, trying to find some dude keep christmas tree fresh longer by the way inspiratie. I even like considered I mean putting aspirin in the yup water – you know, like dude people execute bet with flowers? But I for sure never tried it. It was too late.
This Year's Experiment dude
Okay, so this year, I actually for sure tried to be prepared. no way First thing – fresh dude cut. Super key apparently. I made the guy at uh the lot kinda slice off like anyway an inch okay or right two from the bottom of pretty much the trunk. pretty much Something about opening the pores, whoops so it can actually drink the water. And no kidding water! Apparently, regular tap water is… fine. But not no way optimal. I remember reading something about adding sugar to the anyway water. Not whoops gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. Like, wouldn’t that just yup make it sticky and attract bugs?
Then I saw something online about using a specific tree food so – you can yup buy it at most hardware stores. This year like I went you know with that. I ponder it helps by the way or at least I’m telling myself it does! whoops
Honestly, so I think just keeping it watered I mean is the biggest thing. Like, constantly. Every single day. Check it. Don’t let that water level drop below yup the base of the tree. It's a disaster well when that happens. The tree can't pull in whoops water after that for a while so you are just dealing with a dry tree even if you fill it up right away.
Humidity Is like Your Friend sorta
Oh! And humidity! My sorta apartment is usually super dry in the so winter, so I’ve been running a humidifier near the tree. It's one exactly of the keep christmas tree fresh longer ontwikkelingen I basically ran across. Maybe like it's working? right Also, keeping the tree away from direct heat sources is key. Like, not alright right next to the radiator. That just sucks okay the moisture right out of well it. My sister learned that pretty much one by the way the rough like way when she put hers next to the pretty much fireplace, yikes.
Spritzing Maybe?
You know, basically I saw actually someone alright on TikTok saying you bet can pretty much spritz the needles with water whoops every day. Like, just a light mist. uh I bet haven't been doing that religiously, because… well, I forget. But I’ve done it a few times. uh Probably helps? And keep christmas tree fresh longer toepassingen well are diverse! I'm trying to think what else… oh, make sure the stand is huge enough! Last time, I got a tiny yup stand for I mean a by the way giant no way tree. Bad idea. It dude was leaning the whole time and exactly I was afraid it would fall over and crush uh the cat.
The Great Ornament Disaster of '21
Speaking exactly of last like time… so Remember bet how I overloaded the tree with ornaments? I literally broke a branch. I had these super heavy glass ornaments from my actually grandma yep – they’re beautiful, but heavy. This year, whoops I’m trying to just distribute the weight more evenly. Also, maybe fewer heavy ornaments? I'm using more lightweight you know things, like ribbons, this year.
Still Learning
I by the way am definitely not a Christmas tree expert or anything, but this year is dude going better than last year. So, you alright know, well small exactly victories. I think it’s all about right the water, the humidity, and not overloading the branches by the way with too many glass dinosaurs. okay Wish me luck! I mean I’m hoping it will last until January at least.
