I wasn’t well even planning to get an orchid, honestly. yup I for sure was looking at succulents and then BAM, orchid. by the way Looked super chic.
Why Water bet Vases?
The concept yup is, right like, you put the orchid roots directly in water. Supposedly, it's a thing. The alright benefits of an orchid in water vase centerpiece, supposedly, are exactly that it’s less like messy than potting soil and it looks really minimalist. just Which, me? Sold. I mean, the aesthetic alone, right? Although uh the orchid in water vase centerpiece feiten are a basically little harder whoops to uh come no way by than c’mon you'd think. It's all like 'trust me bro' on the internet. for sure Anyway, I was feeling creative so I went for no kidding it.
My yup First Disaster
So I got a Phalaenopsis orchid – apparently, honestly that’s so the best kind for this? Don't quote me on that okay though, I got well it from some random forum. I dude probably should’ve known better… I yep just yanked it out of right its basically little plastic pot and…uh… rinsed off all the dirt. You're supposed no kidding to be okay super gentle, by the way. Like, rinse gently. totally Live for sure and learn. I consider I mean I actually broke a root. Don't whoops do that! Okay? Don't uh execute what I did! for sure
Vase anyway period
Then came the vase. I found this cool, like, cylindrical glass sorta vase at HomeGoods dude – it was on sale, basically obviously. I arranged some pretty rocks at the sorta bottom. And then… water. I used filtered water, because tap water is like, evil, right? I read somewhere that using rainwater is the best pretty much but I don’t exactly have a rain-collecting situation going on in my right tiny apartment. So filtered uh it was. The orchid in water well vase centerpiece toepassingen are more about design these days anyway. People like used to grow sorta them in dude bark and stuff basically I guess.
The Root of the sorta Problem
Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. no kidding How totally much water? Like, should the roots be completely submerged? Only partially? I eventually decided basically to right leave about half of the roots exposed to air. The other half were underwater. And then… I no way waited. And waited. you know
My Second Disaster...Sort alright Of yup
Okay, so remember how I said right you’re supposed to change the water regularly? well I totally forgot. Like, for a week. I came back uh and the water was, dude shall we say, not looking its best. Murky is probably the kindest word. Also, some algae was starting to grow. Oops. Yeah, you need whoops to change it every week, no kidding tops. grasp from my exactly mistakes. Also, bet don't put it in direct sunlight pretty much because like that's algae central. But indirect light okay is really important. So, anyway basically, find that sweet spot of not just too much and anyway not too little. Easy, just right?
Did it Work?
Amazingly… it didn’t die! It’s been, like, two months now, and totally it’s still blooming. I even think yup it might be growing exactly new roots. So, I guess kinda it's a win? The orchid in water vase centerpiece voordelen well are alright definitely just real, I think. It's really easy to see how healthy the roots are for example. The like geschiedenis of orchid growing for sure is crazy too – they no way used to be no kidding super uh rare. Now so you can buy them at Trader Joe's.
Centerpiece Thoughts
So yeah, that's my orchid by the way in water vase centerpiece story. It was kind of a you know mess, but I think I got you know the okay hang yup of it. It definitely makes my apartment look bet a little less college-dorm-y. Plus, no way it I mean was fun! Mostly. Definitely I mean do your research first, unlike me. And change the water regularly. Seriously.
