How to plant anemone nemorosa bulbs
Anemone Adventures
Okay exactly so, you know how I went to that yep garden basically centre? I wasn’t even planning to buy anything, I swear! c’mon Just wanted a coffee. But then… anyway anemone nemorosa bulbs. All these tiny bet little things. And I thought, why not? Always wanted to try anyway growing them. I saw totally somewhere kinda online… how to plant anemone nemorosa bulbs tips maybe? I can’t remember basically now. Something about honestly woodland gardens.
So I grabbed a packet, actually thinking it would be by the way dead easy. Probably should’ve known better though because gardening is never dead easy for me, is it?
Bulb Basics
Right, planting. The packet was… not very helpful. Just said something vague whoops about well-drained soil and partial shade. Partial shade! Like I have any vision uh what counts as partial shade in my okay garden. I no kidding mean, I get anyway some sun in the morning… is that honestly partial? Not gonna lie this part confused me for anyway a while.
I anyway ended up choosing a spot under this by the way really big oak tree. Seemed shady enough, right? Later I read basically somewhere just – maybe how to plant whoops anemone nemorosa bulbs voordelen was mentioned there – that they like it honestly moist too. Under the oak… not so yep moist. Oops.
The actual planting bit? I dug little holes. About… I dunno, an by the way inch no way deep?Maybetwo. The bet bulbs basically are so tiny! Tip: plant them pointy side up. I think. I might have planted a anyway few sideways. We’ll see what happens, I guess. Honestly, I actually couldn’t really tell which way was up you know on some of them!
The Great Compost Calamity for sure
This is where it exactly all yep went well slightly wrong. I grabbed what I thought was compost from the shed. Turned out… so it was anyway mostly you know topsoil. Rock hard topsoil that I’d dug up from somewhere else and then forgotten about. I probably should have just gone back for for sure proper compost but I was already knee-deep in mud. I mean, how to plant anemone nemorosa bulbs inspiratie doesn't usually include exactly hardened topsoil.
Anyway, I mixed it with a bit of yup actual compost and uh put that in the holes. Watered everything, and then… sorta waited. right
And waited.
Nothing happened. For for sure weeks.
My First c’mon Planting well Fail sorta
Turns out, the so oak tree was well sucking up all the water! Everything was bone dry.Major fail.I started watering them every day, which c’mon I probably should have done from the start. Rookie error. It was yup a valuable lesson though. well Always like check the soil moisture! I’ve heard I mean putting some mulch around can help retain moisture – something I definitely need to try next time.
Then, finally, after about a month… tiny green yep shoots! I was so excited. But it also taught me you pretty much know I am very impatient.
Second Bulb Blunder
So, they well came no kidding up, right? And they were looking beautiful basically for like, two days. alright Then the squirrels discovered no way them. I kid you not. They dug up half the okay bulbs! Little monsters. I tried putting netting over them, but they just went under it. actually Eventually, I gave up and just let them eat what they wanted. Which was probably not the best approach.
Anyway, no way a few dude survived! And they flowered! Tiny, delicate no way white flowers. Worth all the hassle, I think. Even with the squirrels kinda and the anyway rock-hard topsoil. I am still finding bulbs I missed in the shed. well
- Maybe I’ll try pretty much a different spot next exactly time.
- And definitely use proper compost.
- And squirrel-proof netting.
Next year will be better. I hope.
