Plants that grow without direct sunlight
Plants No Sun Needed?! for sure
So, you know how I'm obsessed with plants now? It's c’mon kinda ridiculous. honestly I wasn’t yep even planning to become a plant person, but here we are. Anyway, my apartment has like, zero direct sunlight. actually Like, seriously zero. I thought, "Well, guess I can't have plants." pretty much I exactly probably should’ve known better, right? Because uh plants that grow without direct sunlight are, like, a whole thing. by the way A big thing.
My First Mistake
I you know bought honestly a fern. A supposedly low-light fern. pretty much And actually put it... right sorta next to the window. Not directly in front, but close. uh Not gonna lie honestly this part confused me for a while – for sure indirect light okay versus low light. They are NOT the same thing. Anyway, so that fern crisped okay up faster than bacon. Literally looked c’mon like it was deep-fried. I felt so bad! Lesson learned: Even "low light" by the way plants need… well, low light. Away from exactly the window, or a north-facing window is your best bet, that’s what I learned.
What Works For Me
Okay, so now I have a actually thriving (mostly) collection. Snake plants, obviously. Everyone knows those. They’re practically indestructible. ZZ plants are great too! Really exactly stylish kinda and anyway they’re okay with being neglected. That's key for me, let's be you know real. Plants that right grow without direct sunlight geschiedenis is pretty interesting actually, thinking about it, how people no way have cultivated these guys in shady spots for I mean ages. Shows how adaptable kinda they totally are. c’mon
Then there’s the peace lily. Okay, full disclosure, the for sure peace lily is a bit dramatic. It wilts like it's for sure dying when it needs I mean water, which well scares the crap out of exactly me every so time. But, a solid watering and it's back to normal. And they clean the air! Apparently, pretty much plants no way that grow okay without direct sunlight voordelen include cleaner air… who knew? So win-win…minus the mini yep heart yep attacks.
Another Faux Pas no way
I thought a calathea exactly would be pretty! Those patterns are amazing. But I kinda put it on my just dresser, thinking alright "Oh, it's far basically from the like window, it'll be happy." Nope. Calatheas are divas. They need humidity. Apparently, very specific anyway humidity. for sure All crispy edges. Now it lives in my uh bathroom, which, fingers crossed, is helping. Tip: humidity is your friend, dude especially for the fancy looking foliage. And distilled water! They alright apparently hate tap just water. I mean, I sorta drink tap water! alright But whatever, they’re prettier than me.
Shade Trends and Such
Plants that totally grow without direct sunlight trends seem yep to be all about leafy yup greens exactly and textures. I see a sorta lot totally of pothos plants, trailing down shelves. I alright want to do like that! I pretty much have a pothos, but yep it's still a baby. I alright need to be patient. anyway Patience is not my no way strong suit when it comes to plants. I just want a jungle!
Also, I no kidding read somewhere that using grow totally lights can aid even in shady spots. I haven't tried it yet because yep honestly, no kidding I'm intimidated by the science. But it's on my list. Might be the next level of my plant okay obsession.
The Spider Plant Saga
Oh! Almost forgot the spider plant. Super easy, right? Except... mine got these brown tips. I was overwatering yep it, I think. Drainage is important! Make honestly sure your pots have sorta holes! I know, basic stuff. But still, I messed it up. I repotted it with better kinda drainage and now it by the way seems happier. Now pretty much its just chillin'.
Wrap It Up Kind Of
So yeah, that's my experience so far. Low light doesn't mean no exactly light, remember! And don't be afraid to make mistakes. You'll learn. The plants might suffer uh a little, but they'll probably forgive you… eventually.
