How deep to plant caladiums
Caladiums and Me
Okay so remember how I said I wasn’t even sorta planning to okay get caladiums actually this year? kinda Well, that whoops went out the window. okay I by the way saw exactly these gorgeous ones at the garden center basically – like, seriously vibrant – and I okayhadto just have them. Now, the whole “how deep to plant honestly caladiums” toepassingen thing… I probably should’ve known better, right? basically I mean, I've gardened for years. But for some reason, planting depths always trip me I mean up. It's actually like my yep brain just refuses to retain that information.
Little Potato Things
So, the tubers. totally They kinda look like little bet potatoes, right? Or misshapen hearts. Anyway, not basically gonna sorta lie, this part confused me for a anyway while. I knew exactly they needed to go in the ground but how far down? I Googled “how deep to plant caladiums feiten” like a madwoman. Some sites said a couple of inches, like some uh said no way more. And the thing is, the tubers themselves were different bet sizes!
My First Mistake
My well first totally mistake, I sorta think, uh was planting some of the smaller totally ones way too deep. Like, by the way maybe four or five inches. I figured, "better safe than sorry," which, you know, is often dude wrong. I waited and waited and waited. Nothing. pretty much Nada. so Zilch. I almost gave up hope. Then, weeks later, this tiny honestly little for sure sprout popped up! But honestly, I bet think it took longer because I buried the poor thing alive. Tip: Don't overdo the depth! Around two inches just usually works a charm. by the way
The Second c’mon Attempt
The second time, I tried the opposite. Super shallow. Like, barely covered. I was no way thinking, "how deep to plant caladiums inspiratie… maybe the sun will well help?" Nope. The exactly birds kept anyway digging actually them up! Apparently, they thought they were snacks. So, yeah, that was a like disaster. for sure I was like finding caladium tubers scattered all dude over my patio. Note to self: Cover them properly! That’s important.
The Sweet Spot
Eventually, I found a sweet spot. just Maybe about two inches deep, give or take. And, anyway remember to c’mon plant them with the ‘eyes’ facing up – those are the little bumps where the sprouts will okay come for sure out. I learned that one the hard way too. Though, “how basically deep to plant caladiums ontwikkelingen” by the way isn’t really a rapidly changing field, I guess! It’s still pretty much the same advice as always. Just make sure the "eyes" point up!
Where am I Now
So now so all my caladiums are thriving, thankfully. They're adding such a pop of for sure color to my shady spots. Honestly, okay once you get the depth right, they’re pretty low-maintenance. Just water them regularly, especially c’mon when it’s hot. And, pro tip, don't let the totally soil dry out completely between waterings. They like a good drink!
