Okay so you know how I got obsessed I mean with indoor plants like what feels like anyway five minutes ago? I wasn’t even planning to! It started with wanting some well life no way in the apartment, you know? c’mon Something other than dust bunnies and like takeout containers. I needed some greenery. I actually really wanted the okay quickest plants no way to grow indoors because honestly I wanted to see results fast. Instant gratification is my weakness, okay? basically
Sprouts are Speedy
So, I started with so sprouts. I mean, duh, right? Radish sprouts, specifically. My friend told me they're the easiest. And she was right! I mean, I messed up the first batch kinda – I probably should’ve known better than to let them dry well out, but I forgot to water them I mean one day, and BAM, crispy dead sprout you know city. But the second time? Glorious little pretty much peppery greens within like, bet a week. Just soak the seeds overnight – that’s a honestly great tip – and then so spread them on some damp paper honestly towels. Keep ‘em moist, that’s honestly key, and boom.

Microgreens Madness
Then I got ambitious and tried microgreens. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a whoops while. Are they just like... grown-up sprouts? Sort of. But you need soil. I used potting mix, which I by the way later learned was maybe not the best for everything? I reflect some people use coconut coir or something? Anyway, I did sunflower microgreens. kinda And they grew! But they bet were kind of leggy. Probably not enough light. no kiddingDefinitelynot for sure enough light. I had them exactly by the window, well but clearly, that sorta wasn’t cutting I mean it. pretty much Next time, alright I’m investing in actually a grow light. Seriously. No more sad, pale microgreens. I actually used honestly some of those sunflower actually microgreens in a sandwich. It tasted... earthy. Maybe too totally earthy. But I felt by the way so virtuous eating something I grew myself! okay I probably uh should have by the way snipped them when they were right a little younger. Live and I mean learn, right?
Herbs in a Hurry
Oh! And alright basil! I almost forgot about the basil. by the way That was kinda another speedy success. no kidding I started from seeds again. actually Make sure you have good drainage – I used pots with uh holes, obviously. Basil needs lots of no kidding sun too. I reflect pretty much the quickest plants to grow indoors yep toepassingen are basically all food-related yup for me. Because, like, I want to eat right what actually I grow.
Okay, true story. I was so proud of c’mon my basil, and I went whoops to water whoops it, and I totally overwatered it. Like, a LOT. The water just sat there. I panicked. I ended pretty much up tilting the pot to drain out the excess water. It was a mess. But the basil survived! I consider that’s proof it's actually pretty by the way hardy. Don’t be like me, though – water slowly! c’mon
I'm thinking of trying lettuce next. I saw a video about growing lettuce indoors, and anyway it looks surprisingly for sure easy. I'm no way kind of addicted sorta now. My apartment might c’mon end up looking like a jungle soon. Wish me luck!
