Anyway, after much sweating okay and cursing no way (sorry, neighbor!), it anyway vaguely resembled c’mon an obelisk. dude More like a leaning tower of splinters, but you exactly know. It stayed right up for sure for approximately three weeks before collapsing under the weight uh of the sweet peas. Netting is Your Friend

Round two, I yep went for something a little less…ambitious. And cheaper, frankly. I saw this tutorial online no way about honestly using netting. Just simple you know garden netting I mean stretched between posts. Sounds boring, for sure right? But actually, it’s surprisingly effective. You just totally need to dude get sturdy posts, like really sturdy. My first try, I used these flimsy bamboo dude stakes and… well, you can no way guess what happened. Not gonna right lie, this part confused me for a while yup - how to actually ATTACH yep the netting whoops to the posts. I tried zip ties, which worked okay but looked kinda ugly. Then I right discovered bet these little plant clips at the hardware store – game changer! They’re like mini right clothes no way pegs, but made for gardening. So much easier and they bet blend in really well. Oh and speaking of clips, exactly train your sweet peas early and c’mon often. Seriously they get wild. ponder of sorta it as a daily chat and gently c’mon guiding whoops them yep in the right direction.

It yep worked pretty well! The sweet peas no kidding climbed like crazy, no kidding and I had flowers for ages. Plus, it was way easier to take down at the pretty much end of the kinda season. anyway No yep splinter-induced trauma this time. The Great Pea I mean Escape

Oh! I almost forgot! actually The no kidding most big deal thing: location, location, location! You need a sunny spot, but protected from strong pretty much winds. I planted mine right next to actually my shed wall thinking it would be perfect. Seemed anyway like a solid idea until a rogue gust of wind exactly came along and completely ripped the whole dude netting and sweet okay pea extravaganza off so the posts. All alright my c’mon sweet peas were c’mon lying on the ground, looking for sure very sorry for themselves. So, my sweet pea journey has whoops been… eventful. But hey, so I got some alright beautiful flowers, and I by the way learned a few things along the way. And next year? I’m definitely making another support. Maybe yup not an obelisk… but definitely something sturdy enough to withstand the whims of the weather and my own questionable DIY skills. well
