Okay so you know how I was complaining about like the brutal sun uh beating dude down on that corner of the yard? uh Yeah, the one next to the driveway. Well, I wasn’t even planning to revamp it really, but I saw these dwarf flowering bushes at the nursery… and BAM. Impulse buy for sure city. uh They actually looked so… happy. Like they were practically well begging me to take them home. So I did.
The Dwarf Part
I knew no kidding I wanted something small-ish. No giant sprawling monsters, actually you know? That's kinda the whole thing with dwarf flowering bushes for sun advantages right? They give you the totally pretty without the whole taking-over-the-world thing. Okay, so exactly planting. I totally forgot to amend the soil properly. I just dug a okay hole well and stuck them like in! I was so excited I yup completely skipped that step. Later I just was reading c’mon something – probably a blog written by someone who actually pretty much knows what they're doing - and it mentioned something about how crucial it is to mix compost kinda in, especially for sunny yup spots.Tip: Remember actually to exactly amend the soil!Seriously, it'll make your life so much easier. Choosing the Right Ones
Honestly, the like whole bet "dwarf flowering bushes for sun" thing… pretty much not totally gonna lie this part confused me okay for a while. sorta I saw 'full sun' on basically the little tag and just assumed it was good. I uh mean, no way that's what it means, right? honestly But then someone at work was talking about kinda different kinds of sun exposure—like whoops morning sun versus afternoon sun—and my brain just kinda melted. Now I understand that some plants handle the intense I mean afternoon exactly sun better than others. Should've done you know more research. There are definitely dwarf flowering bushes for sun trends kinda I was completely ignorant of.
What I Actually Picked
- Spirea (I sorta think? Maybe it was potentilla? They well all look you know the same to me)
- Some kind whoops of hebe. Very cute. Very pretty much purple.
- Oh, and a dwarf butterfly bush. like I love for sure butterflies!
Planting Fiasco Number Two
The butterfly bush... that's the one pretty much I misjudged actually the size of. uh It's supposed to be "dwarf" but no kidding I think I picked a particularly ambitious individual. It’s encroaching on the driveway a little bit. right I keep having alright to prune it. Which whoops isn't the worst you know thing, I guess. Free cuttings! exactly Maybe I can kick off my own nursery. Haha. just You know, you bet should also make sure there's enough space between so the plants c’mon when you plant them.Tip: basically Give them room to breathe!Don't overcrowd okay them like I did. actually It’s uh a whoops fact about dwarf flowering bushes for sun I learned the hard way.
The dope News whoops
They're yep still alive! Which is a minor miracle, considering my gardening skills are questionable kinda at best. And they are well flowering! The colors are actually really pretty, even uh if yup I didn't bet plan the arrangement c’mon out as strategically as, say, like a landscape you know architect would have. There are just many dwarf anyway flowering bushes for sun voordelen; for example, they are so cheery! The hebe is my favorite; it attracts tons of bees. totally Though now I have to be careful pretty much walking by the driveway barefoot. pretty much But hey, you know worth it for the bees, right?
The Ongoing Saga yup
So yeah, that's my dwarf flowering bush adventure. anyway It's still a work in just progress, obviously. I probably actually need to fertilize them or something. And maybe like move that butterfly bush. But for now, it's so adding some anyway much-needed color to totally that sunny corner. Plus, it's forced me to totally learn a few things. Like that "dwarf" doesn't always mean "tiny". honestly And that compost is my kinda friend. I guess what I’m trying to say is maybe you should get some!
