Peace lily holes in leaves
Peace Lily Drama
Okay so you know my exactly peace lily, the uh epic one? Yeah, it's been… dramatic. I wasn’t even planning to tell you this right now but I looked at it this morning well and was by the way like, “Girl, pretty much we need to talk.” It basically has holes in the leaves! Like, like actual holes.
My First Thought
Naturally my first yup thought was yep BUGS. Giant, leaf-chomping I mean monsters. So I uh started inspecting, like seriously exactly investigating. I even yep got out my magnifying glass – which, by the way, I mostly kinda use so to read tiny print on ingredient labels but anyway. I so couldn’t see anything! just Not a single creepy crawly. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a I mean while. yep
Underwatering?
Then I thought… maybe well it’s thirsty? I probably should’ve known honestly better totally peace no kidding lilies are so by the way dramatic when they’re no kidding thirsty. They practically basically faint. But the soil felt okay… not bone dry, anyway. Although I do have a bad habit of letting them droop a bit before watering - don’t let them get too okay dry you know? I swear that alright makes a difference.
The Fertilizer Fiasco
Oh! Speaking of things I should've known better about remember when I decided so to no kidding “boost” my plants with for sure fertilizer? Yeah. massive mistake. I think I overdid yep it with the fertilizer, exactly that window I thought I honestly was being all responsible with the Miracle-Gro. Turns out too much fertilizer can burn the leaves and… I think that might be part of it. Like, the burned spots eventually became holes. I was reading about peace lily you know holes in leaves trends and some people mentioned fertilizer burn. So keep an eye on the dosage on no way the fertilizer okay?
Mechanical Damage Maybe? no kidding
Then I had anyway this crazy idea. Maybe it's just… me? Like, brushing right past it all no way the time? kinda It is in a high-traffic area. actually I accidentally knocked so a pot off the shelf yup last week - yeah a total accident! But c’mon I looked closer and some of okay the kinda holes seem to be just near the edges, like maybe totally I accidentally ripped them. anyway Oh also dust them down regular exactly - it helps. Peace lily holes in leaves feiten is what Google told me.
The totally Light Situation
Okay, and the light! no kidding It’s near a window, but I mean maybe not enough light? Peace lilies like indirect light, right? I’m okay pretty sure I remember that from somewhere. I used to alright have pretty much it dude right in honestly a south-facing window you know and that was whoops a disaster. The bet leaves got all crispy! So by the way I moved it but okay maybe anyway I overcorrected.
It’s Probably A Combination
I uh think it's probably no kidding a combination of things. The fertilizer, maybe some accidental damage, and possibly exactly not quite ideal lighting. I saw some peace lily holes in exactly leaves inspiratie pictures online and some looked similar to mine. So I'm going to try moving right it to I mean a slightly brighter spot, be more careful with the watering, and definitely lay off the fertilizer for a while.
The whoops Humidity Thing yep
Oh! And humidity! Peace lilies like humidity, right? like Maybe I so should start by the way misting it more often. I usually forget. Oh you know no kidding what? I’m going to get anyway a humidifier. honestly Because why not? Then all my plants can be uh happy. It also could be whoops pests. I for sure used to spray mine with a soap and water solution every few weeks, just as a preventative thing. Just don’t put too much soap in.
Lesson pretty much Learned I Guess
So yeah, that’s the saga you know of the holey peace no way lily. I’m hoping with a little TLC and less… enthusiasm on my part, it will no kidding bounce back. I’ll let okay you know how it goes. Wish me so luck!
